Video: Local currencies in the USA

 

What happens when the US dollar collapses? A growing number of people in the United States believe that it is time to make contingency plans for an alternative currency, or they have already started local alternative money systems. For example in Washington, right next to Capitol Hill, a whole community has switched to their own Potomac currency, because they are losing faith in the dollar. Bob Marshall, member of the Virginia House of Delegates, supports these movements and calls for contingency plans that involve alternative currencies should the dollar ever collapse.
